Due to recent explosive growth, the hunt is on for a Sales Superstar!

Our client is a fast-growing funded start-up that is using deep learning to build automatic sign language translation. The technology is grounded in world-leading AI research developed at the University of Surrey with a focus on photo-realistic video generation and machine translation. We now have video translation tools translating from Englis into British Sign Language (BSL) and American Sign Language (ASL). Over the last 18 months, we’ve won projects from across the globe, from airports, airlines, train companies and stations, as well as some of the best-known entertainment, retail and finance brands.

They are growing the Sales and Marketing team, and we are now recruiting a Chief Revenue Officer that offers the opportunity to shape and drive the revenue strategy of a fast-growing SaaS company. Offering a remote working environment, equipment, free sign language classes, a share options package and opportunities to get together, celebrate our successes and work through our challenges together. Some pivotal people in the team are based North England so we are reaching out within this geographical patch initially.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) to join the executive team. The CRO will be responsible for driving revenue growth and overseeing all revenue-generating departments, including sales, marketing, and customer success. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in scaling SaaS businesses, experience with selling technical products and the ability to create and execute strategies that maximize revenue and market share.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Revenue Strategy and Execution:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive revenue strategy aligned with our goals.
  • Drive top-line growth through effective sales, marketing, and customer success initiatives.
  • Identify new market opportunities and create strategies to capitalize on them.
  • Sales Leadership:
  • Oversee the sales team, providing guidance, support, and performance management.
  • Establish and monitor key sales metrics to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners.
  • Marketing Oversight:
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute strategies that drive lead generation, brand awareness, and customer acquisition.
  • Ensure marketing efforts are aligned with sales objectives and revenue goals.
  • Product Understanding:
  • Work closely with the Product team to understand client needs and ensure our product is sold in the most efficient way to the most ideal customer profile.
  • Customer Success:
  • Enhance customer retention and satisfaction through effective customer success programmes.
  • Support the strategy of turning “one and done” clients to recurring and embedding them in our suite of translation tools.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making:
  • Utilize data and analytics to inform strategic decisions and measure the effectiveness of revenue-generating initiatives.
  • Implement robust reporting systems to track and forecast revenue performance.
  • Team Development:
  • Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams across sales, marketing, and customer success.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in revenue leadership roles within the SaaS industry.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and scaling businesses.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS metrics, financial acumen, and market dynamics.
  • Experience with technical products and a wish to learn technical client integration.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Experience with CRM and other sales/marketing automation tools.

This position will shape and grow the revenue growth team. There are currently 2 employees in this team with the potential to hire 1 other immediately and then as growth across the product requires.

This is a full-time position, with normal virtual office hours of 9am to 6pm, although flexibility is offered to suit reasonable personal circumstances. We meet in London once a fortnight, with a majority remote set-up. What matters most to us is strong collaboration, meeting agreed milestones and the delivery of high-quality work.
